The ever-evolving nature of the BMW brand necessitated the refurbishment of various existing offices at both the BMW Midrand Head Office and BMW Plant Rosslyn. The refurbishment aimed to provide a better work environment for personnel and to incorporate the new BMW Group Corporate Identity Specification defined by “Neue Arbeitswelten” (new working environments). Extensive space planning exercises led to the reconception and optimisation of existing office layouts. An open, positive and appealing environment marks the spatial design language of the BMW Group. This is combined with the client’s goals, priorities, organisational structure and relationships to form the departure point for the design. The interior is divided into various functional areas – circulation zones, encounter zones and working zones. The outcome is a more effective and efficient office space that accommodates various processes and work flows to create the expected image and atmosphere.
