One on Main is an office designed for a joint venture between TMM holdings and a firm of attorneys. The design had to take into account both the size restrictions of the site and the need to capitalise on views of the Union Buildings. Buildings are compartmentalised into separate units to allow each tenant a dedicated structure. The design is separated into two structures: the south building is raised with the natural ground and the north building is lower. In this way, the desired views can be enjoyed from either building. A modernist aesthetic is emphasised through a linear façade arrangement with balconies and recesses from which views can be appreciated. Entertainment areas on the roofs are protected by horizontal- and vertical louvres that wrap over and down from these spaces. These louvres serve as sun shading and provide space for signage.
